CALL FOR ABSTRACTS

The International Scientific Programming Committee (ISPC) and The Local Organizing Committee (LOC) announce the CALL FOR ABSTRACTS SUBMISSION to the 38th World Congress of the International Union of Physiological Sciences (IUPS-2017). This will be a historic meeting of physiologists from all over the world in the beautiful city of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

At this time, the ISPC and the LOC of IUPS-2017 invite you to submit your abstracts and play an active role on this world congress. The submission of abstracts must follow the guidelines available at the platform for abstract submission, which is open for accepting abstracts from December 1, 2016 to April 30, 2017.

Note that the submission of your abstract requires that you be registered for the Congress.

The discounted EARLY BIRD registration is available until December 31st for all registration categories. The first authors of all submitted abstracts will be informed of acceptance of their abstracts to the scientific program of the Congress within a week of abstract submission.

Registration System

To register, you must complete the registration form with your personal information. When registering you must provide an e-mail or your birthdate (which will be your login) to access a restricted area of registration and abstract submission. The following data must be completed very carefully, because it will be also used for your abstracts submission in the near future.

* Make sure that the e-mail address provided on the form is correct, because all it will be used for all communications with you.

* Registration will only be completed after confirmation of the payment.

* Every participant will receive an e-mail confirming that the form is completed correctly. And as soon as our system confirm the payment, the participant will receive another e-mail with the confirmation of the registration.

Cancellation and Reimbursements

Cancellations should be made by e-mail iups2017@mci-group.com until June 30th, 2017. Note that 70% of the amount paid will be reimbursed, and 30% will be used for administrative fees. No reimbursements will be made after June 30th, 2017. The reimbursements will be made up to 30 days after the end of the IUPS-2017 Congress.

Replacement of Participant

Replacement of Participant should be made by e-mail (iups2017@mci-group.com) until June 30th, 2017. Any questions please contact the registration department of MCI Brazil by phone (+55 21 2286 2846) or by e-mail (iups2017@mci-group.com). After June 30th, 2017 any replacement requested will be charged an administrative fee of 100,00 BRL.

Registration and Abstracts Submission

All registered participant will be allowed to submit one abstract as part of the registration fee. A second abstract per registration will be allowed but in this case a handling fee of 55,00 BRL will be charged.

IUPS Travel Award Program to facilitate travel to IUPS-2017

IUPS is seeking applications for travel awards for the International Congress of Physiological Sciences in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, taking place between August 1 and 5, 2017 (IUPS-2017). Information about the Congress is available at:http://iups2017.com/ . An Awards Committee will review the applications and select the ones chosen for travel awards. The amount of support will be up to a maximum of $1,000 to assist with travel expenses to Brazil. At the Congress, the IUPS will pay the travel awards by checks made out in United States Dollars, provided that appropriate travel receipts are presented.

The Travel Awards are intended for those whose funds for attending IUPS-2017 are limited. Applications from early-career investigators (graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and junior faculty/researchers) and those from countries with relatively low GDPs (as listed by the World Bank) are strongly encouraged. It is anticipated that more applications will be received than can be funded. Notification of awards will be made in late spring, prior to IUPS-2017.

Applicants must note that a Travel Award is conditional on the presentation of an abstract at the meeting. The deadline for abstract submissions is April 30, 2017 (see http://iups2017.com/?page_id=314 ).

1. A copy of your CV.

2. A copy of the Abstract that you have submitted.

Preference will be given to those participating most actively in IUPS-2017. The deadline for submissions of applications for travel awards is April 30, 2017. Submit all Travel Award applications to the IUPS Manager at Steven.Webster@case.edu.
