2026 International Conference of Physiological Sciences (ICPS2026)
Commemorating the 100th Anniversary Ceremony of CAPS
Beijing, China
October 15-18, 2026
CALL FOR SYMPOSIUM PROPOSALS
Dear colleagues:
The Chinese Association for Physiological Sciences (CAPS) will host the 2026 International Conference of Physiological Sciences (ICPS2026) in Beijing, China, October 15-18, 2026, coinciding with the 100th anniversary of CAPS. Since its inception in 2008, ICPS has been held successfully in 2008, 2012, 2016, 2024 and 2025. CAPS was founded in October 1926; the 2026 conference therefore marks a historic centenary for the Society. Combining ICPS2026 with CAPS’s centennial celebration carries important historical and cultural significance and will have far‑reaching impact on scholarship, talent cultivation, and international collaboration.
In an era where life sciences increasingly integrate across disciplines and basic discoveries rapidly move toward translational applications, international collaboration and talent exchange are critical to advancing the field. Integrating ICPS2026 with the centennial events will leverage the centenary’s influence to attract top international scholars and institutions, elevate the scientific caliber and reach of the meeting, and combine retrospective perspectives with forward‑looking discussions. The conference will summarize a century of progress in Chinese physiology, identify strategic priorities for the future, accelerate translation of basic research into clinical, public‑health and industrial applications, and strengthen long‑term international networks for cooperation and training.
ICPS2026 will feature plenary sessions and multiple symposia and that bring together leading global experts to discuss the latest findings and emerging trends across all areas of physiology. The scientific program will also include a Young Physiologist Symposium, poster sessions, and an exhibition of physiological and biomedical instruments, providing opportunities for demonstrations and technical exchange and promoting closer collaboration between CAPS and industry partners.
We are now inviting proposals for academic symposiums.
Symposium Organization and Requirements:
1. Official language: English.
2. Organizers and invited speakers must attend and present in person. Pre-video recorded or virtual presentations are not be accepted.
3. Each symposium is 2-2.5 hours, with 4-5 speakers; inclusion of at least one overseas scholar is required. Female scientists and early‑career researchers are strongly encouraged.
4. Following ICPS precedent, we will also offer society‑named symposia. Each participating society may sponsor 1–3 named symposia. Each sponsored symposium will run 2–2.5 hours, and speakers must be drawn from at least two different societies to encourage cross‑society interaction and scholarly exchange.
5. The organizer serves as symposium chair and may appoint a co‑chair. The organizer is responsible for coordinating speakers, ensuring registration and abstract submission, preparing presentations, and assisting (as needed) with travel documentation.
6. Organizers and speakers must participate in only 1 symposium. They cannot participate or present in multiple symposiums.
7. Fees: Selected organizers and speakers are exempt from registration fees. Travel and accommodation expenses are self-funded.
